As I mentioned in my previous post, our White-Crowned Sparrows have fled for cooler climes until the fall. We're sad to see them go, but we're so grateful for our American Goldfinches, Lesser Goldfinches, and House Finches. They're not as active around the feeders as they were in the winter and early spring, but they still reliably show up everyday, and always provide for some great entertainment. This little beauty above is a female American Goldfinch in full breeding colors. I've added her photo along with a half dozen others to the Finch Gallery.
